The new forms were designed driven by FATCA and seek to collect information related to financial institutions. Often your W-8 need has nothing to do with either - say you're simply being paid for some contract work. There is no need to invest time completing the complex forms, irrelevant FATCA data and spending hours deciphering the complex terminology of IRS forms and their ambiguity. There is a simple work-around that is fully accepted by IRS. We offer assistance, typically for one hour or less fee, with this and provide tax law and IRS procedural citation links as proof you can provide to your W-8 requester. Please contact our office at 416-256-0080 to discuss.
