1040NR vs 1040 refund timing and processing

IRS says 1040NR return processing is 22-42 days.

Although IRS says concerning 1040 “the IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days”, concerning 1040NR it says “we need more than 21 days to process a 1040NR return, please allow up to 6 months from the date you filed the 1040NR for your refund” https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
